He heeded my threat with a stiff nod, out of fear, and for the next several minutes, he was as silent a clam. We passed the first checkpoint out of the city, the security looking rather lax, and moved further north, towards the desert borders that led into another smaller city called Frost. And unlike this uptight city, the residents of Frosts were refugees, merchants, traders, etc. The kind of people the government didn’t really care about. There was no telling how many crimes occurred in the city, since none of them were ever reported, on the fear of death. Vicious, syndicate gangs ran the city, keeping a tight lid on everything that happened inside the walls of the town. This was definitely the place I needed to go to buy some supplies and blow off some much deserved steam.
